(I know you didn't like the way he refereed that fight, but he did have a great reputation, and Kessler agreed to his appointment, and he could have insisted on someone else).

Reiss refereed the Arreola-Adamek fight last weekend and he is also Arreola's neighbor and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

If anything Reiss did Kessler a favor by pulling Kessler out of the fight. An early ending to any fight in such a manner has a negative impact on the victor as it costs them potential tiebreaker points they could have won by carrying the remaining rounds.

I would say that Reiss is probably the best referee that has done a Super 6 fight so far.

Froch fans better prepare to book the ticket for Berlin.
I wanted to watch Froch getting KO'd in front of his homefans.

dam right! he should at least get 2M Quids...and a bunch of pounds to go over there. he'd be nuts!
for sure he'd have to take it out of the judges hands.

i must say its been a long while since i've noticed any biassed judging in
germany. and the sven ottke days are over. but you gotta feel for froch.

A lot of boxing writers, including US-based boxing writers, said Kessler had a fair point when he complained that Ward was allowed to get away with far too much holding, head-butting and elbowing. Very few think it was a fight-changer (unlike Battling Nelson, but he would think that, wouldn't he!), but a lot of respected writers thought the ref was far too lenient on Ward.

That said, I agree that Reiss is a good referee.
