Super middleweight Carl Froch admits that he wasn't in his best boxing form when he dropped a unanimous twelve round decision to Mikkel Kessler on Saturday night in Denmark. Froch thinks he had Kessler badly hurt in the fifth round, when the Danish fighter went down and the referee waved it off as a slip. He blames himself for not trying to finish Kessler off. kessler has always shown a very good chin......he was closer to being koed by exhaustion(his own fault, lol, he had the fight in the bag and went crazy) in the last than he was by punches.....

Yes, I agree Kessler was almost KOed by doing cardio and not the fact Froch was landing bombs.

Kessler was in trouble in the 5th, not from the "knock-down" but from a punch before and after that, I thought a KO was a matter of time. Froch didn't sense it and didn't capitalise, Kessler came back like a warrior and the rest is history.

We probably won't see a rematch as AA will beat Froch. Still, great fight.

I totally agree. After the 5th all I could see was a Froch stoppage for some reason. He just looked so strong coming forward when he wanted... long and rangy and landing bombs.

Kessler outworked him in the mid rounds though and landed some eye catching shots because the Cobra thinks he's got the defense of Mayweather.

Froch definitely won the majority of the last 4 rounds I thought.

He won 10 and 11. 9 was very close (I had Kessler) and 12th was clearly won by Kessler.

wrong, watch rund 12 again...kessler was wind milling but actually wasnt landing where as froch was popping him in the head. Perhaps the manic hayte makers from kessler impressed the judges, but the cleaner effective shots were again landed by froch.

Froch definitely won the 12th. Kessler was hanging on with 30 seconds left after Froch had him hurt. If only Froch had fought some of the middle rounds like he did the last few, then he would have won the fight in my mind.

Froch wasn't at his best, his best being aggressive from the get go. He needs to fight every fight how he fought Pascal. With a relentless assault, and sustained pressure.

then it must be on his way back to the airport! noone thought Froch won the fight, not even Froch or his corner. watch the final round and tell me whats the reaction when the bell rang? the all know he got beaten fair and square!
Kessler controlled the fight and hurt Froch with bodyshots again and again, the few times Froch landed a bomb Kessler just ate it.

You got to love Frochs confidence still. Hes implying Kessler was hurt 3 times badly. But implying he himself wasnt hurt by kessler.
