Bring back 15 round fights strictly for the Heavyweights.

It will basically eliminate guys coming into title fights so ****ing fat or musclebound(so-called "Super Heavyweights"). Go into a 15rd fight weighing anything over 250lbs and see if you make the final bell. Even the Klitschkos would have to comply and be prepared to maybe chase a fast cruiserweight or lightheavyweight moving up for 15 without gassing. It would result in fitter, lighter, and more physically normal champions an average fan can relate to.

Big tall muscled up Giants and strong fat men aren't new. They just couldn't be champions in boxing back in the day because the laws of physics doesnt allow it. Bring the division back to earth!

If they did Chad Dawson would be the Undisputed Heavyweight Champ.

The worst thing that could happen is a Super-Heavyweight division.

Haha well said, ghost. I doubt adding 3 rounds on will make the majority of these HW sloaths train harder and actually look and fell like adequately fit fighting machines. I like Haye's idea, where HW boxers should come within a certain bodyfat percentage range. Too many sloppy, out of shape fighters in the division.

        LOL

I thought you're gonna propose the heavyweight limit gets lowered to 147.

        Got me.

@Kilrain That's part of the beauty of 15 rounders. Sloths would be wiped out of the top 10 period. They couldn't hold up to a guy that's well conditioned and who can box a full 15 rds while they're gasping for breath. You would definitely see body fat percentages take a dive for the better. Muscle would too for the same reason. Turn the heat up on these oversized fighters and knock them out in the championship rounds when they're out of gas.

@ghost deini You ever seen Rocky 4? I know it's just a movie, but the concept of how Rocky won against Drago was logical. Get in tip-top shape and make that big son-of-a ***** fight every minute of every round for 15 rounds. Maybe Vitali could, I doubt Wlad could go a hard 15.

its an intersting concept and it would be hilarious to watch to guys throwing what little they have pass the 12 round.

Thats right. If one guy after 15 is throwing pitty pats and the other guy is still fit and can dish punishment, what you think will happen? Go back and watch some old school title fights. Check the weights on boxrec. Giants cant do 15 against fit skilled guys.

You do know that the Klitschko's usually knock out their opponents BEFORE the 12th round anyway?

Thats because they're fighting the very thing 15 rounders would eliminate from title contention. Fat dudes or overmuscled slow fighters. Name me 1 guy they knocked out before 12 who wasn't?
