The thing is with Froch he is a far better boxer than he is given credit for he's an amateur bronze medalist so he must have some skills. His stance and his long arms means make him very awkward to fight and it means he can throw punches from all sorts of weird angles, especially his jab which is very underrated. He's also very good at getting out of range, and doesn't get hit as much as everyone thinks he does. People think he's a prssure fighter but really he's more of an aggresive counter puncher.

      Good post, I totally agree.

At times he looked downright Vitali-ish out there. All these sneaky, whip-like arm punches from weird angles and leaning back out of range at the same time. I've only just noticed how seemingly difficult it is to get firmly on his inside - when he wants to, he's very good at controlling the distance between him and his opponent using the jab and awkward upper body movement. It's fascinating to watch. He actually has a boxing brain after all!

And the more I think about it, I'm reminded of the time I finally figured out as to why Vitali's style is so clever and fun to watch - it was like a sort of "Ahh, I get it now!" type of revelation. Both fighters in question show a laughable lack of regard for traditional defence, yet in their own unique way they're able to create a frustratingly weird and effective defence strategy that works for them and nobody else.

How can you not admire a man who just puts his foot to the pedal and goes for it?

He's got to the very, very, top of his sport.

And when all has been said and done he's faced the best competition of any British fighter of the last decade - consecutively!
Yeah... but he's still a twat!!!!
