I thought Froch's defense was actually better than Kessler's and I think it was only Kessler's superior workrate (in the middle rounds inparticular) that won it for him because Froch was out boxing him most of the time. Froch has a very underrated jab and one of the most awkward fighters I've seen, he thorws punches from ridiculous angles. But its been the most competitive fight of the S6 so far and proved both men still belong in this tourney.

I'm very upset about this. It was a close fight that I think could have been a draw or a 115-113 to Kessler from what I could tell on my steam. Tillerman obviously was paid well by a German promoter again...

Froch got too confident early and just took rounds 6-9 off I think. Early on he was really bothering Kessler who I don't think landed a half decent shot for the first 4 rounds. He came back strong but sadly it was too little too late especially being away from home. I was going mental when Kessler went down... (although on replay he blocked the shots and seem to just fall over)

I'm going to cry into my pillow now.

Rewatched rounds 4-11. Froch definitely took 4,5,10,11 I think.
Kessler took some others in there for sure as well.
I was at Herning. All the credit to your man Froch. He fought one hell of a fight. I honestly think that this was the best Froch so far.

      This was a GREAT fight.

Great fight by both, I thought Kessler was on the verge of been knocked out by Froch....Especially in the 11th round but he fought his way to a round or two point win on my card.

Yer, this was the best Froch I have seen. He is getting better and better and I truly believe he will be even better after this fight. Kessler however is another story after a 40 fight career.

If anybody doubted Kessler's state of mind after Ward this fight proved everybody wrong. He (and Froch) was a warrior last night. Maybe a took a few to many punches, but give Froch a lot of credit for hitting Kessler. Also Kessler reinvented his left hook that seemed to land whenever he threw it. Froch on the other hand made the mistake of backing up too much and throwing the jab off the back foot.

But as you said Froch will learn from this fight. I'm sure that when him and AA fight it will rival this fight for FOTY honours. It would definetely be a fight I'd like to travel to witness.

This was a CLOSE fight. Froch is officially much better than his extreme detractors on this site gave him credit for.
              Okay, FWIW,

Kessler's shots were being picked off and/or missing quite consistently at points in the fight, I agree.
