    That's probably what causes it.

Add Marvin Hagler to the list.

      He broke his GF's jaw.

Certainly seems more common in this sport.

Because boxers have huge ego's and are used to getting their own way. When they don't or can't anymore or when someone does'nt listen to them the natural fighter instinct is to hit whatever is giving them problems.

I can't respect any man that beats a woman. It's the lowest kind of weakness.

What if a woman hits first? I would slap a woman back if she hits me first.

I agree. I will never respect a fighter that beats up a woman.

I find it's especially low when a boxer beats up the mother of his children, like LaMotta, Mayweather, Gatti, Bowe, Louis, Valero, etc did.

                - Mike Tyson was beating Robin Givens

                - Jake Lamotta said he regularly beat up and was abusive toward his wife

                - Arturo Gatti was seen hitting his wife in public places

                - Edwin Valero's wife was severely beaten and eventually mundered

There are many more examples. This seems more common with boxers than other athletes, I wonder why? Perhaps pugalistic dementia is the cause?
It is our prevalent society trove of adrenaline and aggression-induced sport that comes along with it. Our entertainment also cajole us into it likewise.

As a tai chi meditator from the aggressive Jeet Kune Do and Kali/Escrima/Arnis martial arts, I can see this now. The whole society is and not just athletes are into violence.

It is because we don't know how to calm ourselves while we are being hard-wired, pushed and trained to do the very best while our ego are primed TO WIN while not leaving ourselves no other options.

We don't want to settle for just a win, we want to see KNOCKOUTS. We just don't want to see blood, we want to see gore.

                Same with all other sports.

This "winning mentality" has been etched into our beings due to movies, entertainment, news, magazines, books or the whole media also feeding the masses into the frenzy. How much more for the athletes?

Athletes are being trained, pushed, hard-wired...beyond the normal capacities to punch their hardest, to destroy, to annihilate, to move the quickest, fastest, to eat and consume more calories, proteins...then fed with the money and fame.

Where else would they go if they cannot get more?

                VIOLENCE.....they feel empowered.

Thus we need to be all grounded, with meditations that we are not just machines to compete and destroy but loving and compassionate light beings.

Sorry, but if you did that then you're not a real man.

You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe some crazy **** happened that prompted an outburst. Say you were a public figure your girlfriend is pissed off or drunk or something and decides to bring a knife to you or something, you hit her to defend yourslef but, don't let word out in case of public scandal.
I don't know but, don't believe what's on paper is all that ever happened...

I wouldn't punch her. I would just gently slap her:
