nah I am not one of those who thinks Martinez is the best thing since sliced bread. But he does have a better right hook than Bute, better combinations, better head movement, better experience.

I don't think it would be a mismatch, but why should Martinez go and do that when there are other options available to him.

1. Chance at history
2. Even if he loses, he can move back down and everyone will just say he was too small. Not much to lose for Martinez.
3. Both HBO fighters, both fought on the same card, so Bute fans have seen MArtinez, and Martinez fans have seen Bute. Easy to sell this fight.

Kelly Pavlik is not on the same level as Bute, sorry to let you know. Pavlik is a big, slow, plodding regular Joe with a good chin and a better punch. If Taylor hadn't let him off the hook in 2007, this guy would be considered a very average fighter today.
