Credit to Dwyer for coming up with the idea but this would be really interesting Martinez vs Bute, Martinez with the chance to be the first fighter since Homicide Hank to hold 3 titles in 3 weight classes at the same time.
Martinez vs Bute for a shot at history?

But that fight is asking too much from Martinez. A natural 154'er against a natural 168'er.Comment

nothing to suggest that this is a mismatch. Bute has never fought a fighter with gifted handspeed. Bute has a big size advantage but size doesn't mean everything. Also Bute has a good jab but kind of has a weak right hook, something that could hurt him against another southpaw.
And BTW I am a huge Bute fan. Went to his last fight and lost my voice cheering for him. Just being realistic here. I also think Bute would win but no way this is a mismatch.Last edited by PH|L; 04-21-2010, 10:14 PM.Comment

Bute is just as fast if not faster, he have 1 punch KO power, he is very slick, and poses every advantage really.
Mismatch, the Martinez hype is getting out of handComment

nah I am not one of those who thinks Martinez is the best thing since sliced bread. But he does have a better right hook than Bute, better combinations, better head movement, better experience.Comment
