Mayweather can outjab Shane, no doubt about that. But if Shane's trying to meet him speed for speed, he's going to lose. I don't know what Naz has cooking, but he won't have Shane fight like he did against Cotto. If he keeps it midrange and tries to snipe Floyd, he's in for a long and frustrating night.

Naazim corrected a lot of these problems, but unfortunately his legs were too old to bring back to the way they were years ago.
Looking at mayorga's career, he generally makes everyone look bad especially if you can't hurt him. In my opinion forrest beat him in their second fight, but because forrest wasnt able to seriously hurt him, mayorga was able to rush forward and make the fight very ugly. Corey Spinks didn't look great either. Trinidad although eventually knocking him out, was also knocked down.

In fighting mosley, mayorga seemed to be in good shape and used his size advantage against mosley to the best of his ability. He also limited mosley's offence by clinching and not exchanging as often as he did against DLH and Trinidad.

The question is what the hand speed difference will be in this fight. And, in this fight I see Floyd as being much faster. I simply do not believe that he, for example, truly pushed himself to get into magnificient shape for the Marquez fight, or that Marquez truly brought out the best of him. I believe this will be the case for Mosley. I simply think that if Floyd really has to, he can be a lot faster than Mosley. Not that Floyd is the fastest fighter. Judah was faster than him in their fight.

Shanes chance is to close gap and just overwhelmed Flyod, Shane cant play technical or Flyod will just beat him in point through his famous pot shots.

At this point in Shane Mosley's career, his speed is a myth. His speed lives on reputation alone.

I don't understand how people can watch his last few fights and say that his handspeed is even in the same ball park as Floyd, Pac, Berto, and Khan's. I mean it's not even close.

At this point in his career, Joshua Clottey clearly has faster hands than Mosley.

Anything else said is just living in the past. Mosley, while still well above average in the speed department, no longer has elite handspeed.

So how do you think the speed difference will be in this fight?

              Even
              Wide in Floyds favor
              Wide in Shanes favor
              Very Close in Floyds favor
              Very Close in Shanes favor

I ask this because after watching that fight closely. Mosley did not look that fast at all. It wasnt because Cotto is this speed demon it was because Cotto was timing him PERFECTLY. Shane didnt let his hands go that much in fear of getting a crisp counter shot in his face. So in essence Cottos timing and speed made Cotto the faster fighter.

Now vs. Mayweather: Who times fighters better then Floyd? Who is more accurate then Floyd? Who has better reflexes? Who is smarter then Floyd? Then you have Floyds handspeed. Who I still think is faster then Pacquiao. Floyd throws the one punch alot faster then Pac throws his one punch. But Pac strings Combos better. But anyway I think the speed gap will be night and day in this fight. I actually feel Floyd will make Shane look slow. Floyd looks to be in much better shape then in the JMM fight and they are working on combos and handspeed in camp. People say Floyd was rusty vs. JMM Idont see it. I see him carrying extra weight and he was still blazing fast and still had INSANE reflexes.

Heres some hi-lights put together of the JMM fight showing just his reflexes:

The first 2:50 is the JMM-Floyd stuff.

You have to understand fighters speed vary from fight to fight depending on how they feel and how good a camp they had.

Are you on crack?I` seen Mosley vs Cotto and Mosley`s reach was very close to Cotto`s.

He is capable of throwing combinations but now he just loads up on punches... He CAN utilize good handspeed if he wants to..He needs to throw combinations this fight to have any shot...loading up will get him nowhere.

I agree with this. I don't think Cotto was faster than Mosley but his timing was better. I think Mayweather has a slight edge in speed and moves much better than Mosley.
