Very good point bro. Forgot about the huge reach advantage he had over Cotto.

It's a good point about Cotto-Shane, To me that fight just showed that Shane gets hit much more than he used to get hit and the thing that helped him against Cotto was that Cotto didnt have a particuarly good defence either. So Shane was able to land in spots and make the rounds close.

But against Floyd he won't be able to do that

I think timing is a pre-requisite to speed, but both are totally different.

Floyd on a slight edge because of what i state above.

Another thing Cotto faded down the stretch IMO. Some say he was just coasting I think he was a little winded.

Thhey could be even. the thing is I havent see floyd throw combos in a good min. he been throwing only 1-2 shots. maybe sometimes 3. I might have to agree with J ro on his point about timing.

The last time i seen Mayweather throw more then a 3 punch combination was at 140, only can remember him throwing 1-2's at 147.

Thats what I said in my post.

I ask this because after watching that fight closely. Mosley did not look that fast at all. It wasnt because Cotto is this speed demon it was because Cotto was timing him PERFECTLY. Shane didnt let his hands go that much in fear of getting a crisp counter shot in his face. So in essence Cottos timing and speed made Cotto the faster fighter.
Floyd wont have to throw combos vs. Shane to beat him. Just his pot shots are lightning fast ad unpredictable which is why they always land flush the opponent has no idea where they are coming from or going.

In camp they are working on putting punches together but he doesnt need to in order to beat Mosley. Being fast doesnt mean throwing combos. Margarito throws Combos.

you know whats underrated tho. floyds left hook. The opponent dont know if its going to the body or to the head.

That's debatable beacuse of this point...

Pacquiao's speed with weird angles vs Floyd's speed but with better timing can be argueable.
