Actually, that's complete rubbish. Tszyu had wanted that fight for a long time and said after Mitchell II that Mayweather, Hatton, etc were all in general talks for future fights. Hatton offered the most money out of all of them, and the rest is history.

Mayweather never offered Tszyu a fight or even put the first talks into place. He had said a fight with Tszyu would be the crowning fight in the sport around 2005 but they never went forward with anything more and then Hatton's team jumped on the chance to fight the old Tszyu.

Anyway, it's not actually for a payday although some may not believe this. His business ventures after boxing have boomed in a big way and he is richer now than ever through those. It's not for want of money. I think he feels he left the sport on a bad note and wants something big to see if anything can happen, not that it ever would now at 40 years old against those guys.

So how is it bull****............he got outbid.....then KT retired.

Tszyu should first go for a rematch with Hatton. It will probably take them equally as long to get into fighting shape. If he can get past Hatton then he would be in line for a bigger fight.

if (and this is a BIG if) zoo could get back to his old form, he could be very competitive with floyd or pac. zoo always did well against boxers. where he had problems was against guys who crowded him and didnt give him room to punch. i think a prime zoo would be an excellent fight against floyd. BUT at his age and inactivity, i doubt he can get back to his prime or even close.

You are so right.....The guy was my favorite of the era, but at his age, and with '40 and '47 as strong as they are, I'd just as soon see him stay retired. Kostya Tszyu...the man who brought us the Original Zab Judah Chicken Dance!
