It certainly looked that way. The middle rounds weren't a case of Pavlik dominating Sergio he just wasn't throwing as many punches. The way he came out in the ninth would lead me to believe him.

i noticed it too soon as he came out i believe it was the 8th or 9th he just started looking like a completely different he coasted i even stated the same thing way before this article came out.

martinez fought smart he beat pavlik up for atleast 4 rounds till he got tired,he coasted till the 8th then just started beating pavlik up again.

basically if he fights his fights like that he will continue to win because it kills the chance of him getting tired and losing or getting koed at the end of the fight.

I believe him, sergio was whooping him from the 9th round and up

the cut happened in the ninth that probably had something to do with sergio coming on in the ninth round.

you could tell in rounds 1-4 combos in rounds 5-8 one punch and he was coming in slower then as soon as round 9 he looks fast as if it was round 1 it was a perfect plan.

he did say that was his plan befor the fight the cut was just iceing on the cake i saw a interview on telmundo where he was talking about resting in the middle rounds so its not bull****

I believe that he laid off a little bit, probably part of the strategy but we'll never know for sure
