Anyways, there are plenty of others who had little experience.
Like who? The only one I can think of is Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. But his dad was a 3 division champ, so he probably taught him how to box when he was a kid

Martinez got no amateur experience but he has always been a dedicated athlete. He def got the talent if he get a top of the line trainer (roach, ****m, etc.) he will def climb the p4p rankings .

Bernard Hopkins and Chavez? Both had very little little or none. I think Toney even had less than 50 fights.

And I'm not downplaying it. I think its good that Martinez was able to do that. But its nothing HUGE.

Sergio Martinez does not drink alcohol. Neither does Bernard Hopkins. Some fighters should learn something from these 2 who had no amatuer experience.

Do you know if Cotto ever quit in one of his amauteur fights?

Martinez had a great amatuer career and went the World Championships and won the Argie national Title.

He only had like 40 fights though. That isn't very much experience at all. He and James Toney had very little experience before turning pro.

Still quite a bit and he had international experience to.
