Sergio Martinez Has No Amateur Experience

In February 2000, on the undercard of the first Erik Morales-Marco Antonio Barrera fight, Margarito stopped Martinez in the seventh round -- his only defeat other than the debatable decision loss to Williams. At the time he faced Margarito, Martinez was 16-0-1 and had been boxing for only about five years (and had no amateur experience). http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/blo...z-many-options

I think most knew that. Williams is also a guy with very little am experience.

Not a huge shocker. Pacquiao didn't have any amateur experience either.

That's what I've saying when people bring up the Margarito fight. It doesn't really mean much. I'd love to see a rematch.

I didn't know that one about Cotto, wow and they're the top fighters in boxing too.

                  Who's feeding you this?

I don't know about Pacquiao, but Cotto was an Olympian and had over 100 amateur fights.
