Too many titles, but 7x Champ in 5 weight classes

Even when floyd cared about belts, he only ever wanted the WBC strap. the WBA title serves no purpose for floyd in this fight.

Well I've heard Floyd mention before particularly referring to the WBC as the official belt .. and outside of that IBF Welterweight title he picked up off of Zab (which he did wind up vacating) he's been all about winning the WBC title, and for what ever reason he doesn't want to fight for the WBA .. be it money wise or etc

Why not a title fight? He could use that as a leverage on the negotiation. He can vacate it after it.

exactly, sure the WBA could throw some unnecessary mandatory @ Floyd .. forcing him to vacate and aim for the bigger fights

but having Floyd as its champ benefits the WBA greatly .. if Floyd were to try and set up a bout vs Pacquiao I'd imagine the WBA would want to be a part of the action

the way it is in boxing, the WBA is one of four alphabet belts so picking up Mosley's title isn't terribly significant in the long run I agree with that

but I also agree that winning an alphabet title is still an accomplishment and besides

if Floyd counts picking up that IBF Welterweight title toward his 6 titles in 5 division claim

why not try to add a seventh? even if it is the WBA, and Floyd gets a BS mandatory thrown his way.

2 pounds means a lot in lighter weight division. Unless you don't care. It gives you an advages. Its not a heavyweight bout. Why is there weight classes if no one will follow?
