And again he is in shape! He just doesn't look the part. You know how many guys Chris has knocked the stuffing out of who "did" look the part. What were their excuses? they were young, in shape, bodies like rocks, and they got clobbered by a supposiably fat out of shape slob. I know they are not world beaters but by the opinions some of you are mentioning in this thread Chris had no buissness beating these guys who looked like bodybuilders but he did it anyways.

And he was still coming against Vitali and never got gassed doing it. Plus what HW contender goes 10 or more round regularly? If you are a HW and your fights are going 10-12 round on a normal basis then maybe you arn't a contender at all.

What it came down to is skills. Your beef again isn't with Chris and his skills! It's with his looks!!

I don't think that looking like a bodybuilder necessary means you're in great shape to box. Arreola looked far from a body builder at 230-240 lbs but he looked good for a boxer. I don't think anyone can say that he has been in ideal shape for his past couple of fights. Shannon Briggs isn't in great shape in my opinion either. He looks like he could lift a building but he isn't able to lift his arms after around 4 rounds.

That would be pretty hard to do, seeing how it was from 2009. If I remember correctly, it was leading up to the Minto fight. He did have an excuse, but it was a bulls**t excuse.

Anyone who saw Arreola earlier in his career (when he weighed 230-240) would know how much the weight has affected him...A LOT.

you're 100% right and I apologize to Pull a bit

prior to working with Hudson he and largely did his nutrition (which was really none) and training on his own.

now that he has a conditioning coach in place while the weight has still been an issue his technique and ability to delivery punches has improved more and more

in the gym for this camp you can see him slowly starting to become more athletic than prior where he would come forward and **** until they submit. He is actually using angles and footwork

but to say someone is out of shape solely based on their appearance really is confusing considering Juan Diaz NEVER looked in shape and I dare say he had the best stamina of any at 135 while he was reigning over that division

he should be around 240 for this fight

I agree with you Chris wasn't in "ideal" shape, and even at 240 he's not in "ideal" shape either.

But my point again is when people call him a fat slob they are being pompus ***ing asses who are just hating on the guy for the shallowist of reasons.

Like you mentioned Shannon briggs is this giant of a man with huge perfect muscles and washboard six pack infested stomech but make him throw more than 20 punches in a round and hes a weezing mess of a man who reminds me of my dad trying to work out.

By looking at him would you really think Arreola has twice the cardio that Briggs has??

THEN he was horribly out of shape even though he was lighter. He had no conditioning program and let his boxing get him in shape.

NOW he is a better athlete from when he was lighter
