I remember reading about him when he was 18-0. Always liked him, but thought he'd be exposed if he ever made it to the elite level. Also it doesn't help that I now find out he was a druggie and drank a bunch. People are saying what if he got cleaned up? Well that's a very big if. His mom said he's had problems for the last decade so I can only imagine him crashing and burning. If he had been able to get his act together and truly focus he could have been great. But in that line of thinking what if Cus had lived another ten years and Tyson never went to jail? Too many questions. Had he lived he probably wouldn't have changed his life style and I can only see bad things for his life further down the line.

The truth is Sanchez never reached his potential due to his early death. (claim to fame wins over rookie NELSON 15 rds., overweight GOMEZ., and 2 wins over cream puff Lil' Red Lopez) Valero was UNDEFEATED, KO'D his first 17 opponants, won a WBC lightweight Championship, while fighting a drug addiction. So neither stood around long enough to claim TRUE GREATNESS!!!!

Sanchez had a great title reign, beating several top contenders and a few guys recognised as being great fighters.

Valero KO'd a whole load of bums and beat DeMarco, who at the moment is an absolute nobody.
