Ortiz was not beaten to a pulp. For the last knockdown, he went down without a clean punch landing on his face. Then he was up befoer 6. Walked around on steady legs, and decided he had enough. It happens all the time in boxing as it is his choice. But he must understand that there will be questions about his heart and willingness to go to the limit for the rest of his career.

And do you know how many fighters collapse and die with less punishment than what Ortiz took in that fight?


The problem here is that fans like you and misguided idiots like Max kellerman tend to think that they know what a fighters body is feeling more than the boxer himself. Victor felt in danger and I think he made the right call, and I as a rule never question any boxers heart simply because being a boxer period journeyman or Champion alike has so much courage to even consider this as a profession.

You know how dangerous this sport is? Just to step in the ring period takes a hundred times more heart than what the normal man could ever hope to have.


In otherwords questioning any fighters heart is without a doubt disrespectful to the sport itself because you are making it seem like "anyone" can do what Victor does which is not the case whatsoever.

I think everyone will be in for a huge suprise in this fight as Ortiz knows what a lost against Nate would do to his career. As for Nate anyone who actually knows him knows that he has the heart of a lion and wont back down even in face of defeat!! His ego wont allow it! I assure you all that Nate wants to prove a serious point in this fight and will do so. I like Ortiz and have alot of hope for him even after his lost to Maidana but Nate is pissed and Ortiz is gonna be the object which has to endure his fury. And of course after Nate wins the skeptics will say Ortiz was hyped up or Ortiz doesnt have the heart. In that case i employ anyone with a negative opinion about any man who fights for a living to get in the ring!!
