Pavlik needed someone like Mick Williamson in his corner, probably the best cuts man in the business. How many times did Mick help Ricky Hatton with bad, bad cuts and prevented a loss due to cuts stoppage? A load of times.

I think that cut man was awful , might not have cost him the fight , but it was a horror show to watch .

Actually, that's the problem: Pavlik has been exactly the same after the Hopkins fight. He can't deal with boxers, or how Hopkins phrased it after their fight, if Kelly doesn't change his style he can't deal with "black fighters".

Exactly. Why do you think they avoided Arthur Abraham?

pavlik got no skills..he would of lost the fight with 5 healthy eyes on his head..they just blaming the cutman so that they can sell the next fight if it happens..they know the next pay check he's getting is his last pay check.

No one should be surprised by this. He certainly wasn't going to blame Kelly Pavlik for losing the fight. The cut man didn't bust up Pavlik's face. That was Martinez and the reason he was able to bust up his face so well was because of a lack of head movement/lack of defense. A rematch will result in the same outcome.

They picked Martinez because they thought it would be an easy win and they thought they could score some brownie points in the game of public opinion by beating his more thoroughly than Paul Williams. Since they lost, it was the cutman's fault. It he hadn't been cut, they would have blamed the strength and conditioning coach.
