now add in the most important fact that there are weight classes in boxing so it shouldn't make a difference when guys match up at the same weight.
maybe at heavyweight there is a big difference but not at ww for example.

man no one is saying may doesnt have the skills and speed.

see may has that coordination, athletic ability along with phenomenal skills, especially quickness and speed to compete in any era....POINT being bigger faster stronger does not apply to boxing except hw in my opinion, because there can drastic differences in size and height, not in the lower classes.

it is not pure speculation my friend because there are ways to compare speed of the past fighters and athletes to today. first you can watch videos of past fights/sports, secondly you can go and find statistics, olympics or pros/collegiate, of guys making and breaking records. statistics are recorded over the years and we are capable of comparing them to records of today.

before reggie bush 25 years ago there was bo jackson and hershel walker.

sammy sosa hit 63 homeruns in 1999 and roger maris hit 61 in 1961 with heavier bats, bigger ballparks and baseballs that were not wound as tight and didnt travel as far.
im not gonna go thro every sport but u get the idea.

i played basketball, baseball, football and boxed. and honestly i hit farther in baseball and hit harder in boxing when weighing 172 lbs then i did when i weighed 185. speed equals power along with genetics of course.

so bigger stronger faster mainly applies to football and probably basketball, but not boxing or baseball for instance.

so it depends on the sport.

therefore i dont think the athletes are better today, especially in boxing. also, another note, there were many more boxers 30 years ago especially in the american hw division, elite athletes that no longer are involved in boxing due to the fact they are playing or played collegiate and pro football and basketball.

u also mentioned guys couldnt keep up back then like today, untrue. i am a physical therapist and have spent the last ten years studying anatomy and physiology along with kinesiology. this **** is my lifes work..............
this is why i said it depends on the individual person and what they think or believe. and everyone is entitled lol relax

well at least you understand that styles make fights...

and i dont believe margacheato wasnt himself for being caught

although he might have been disrupted a bit, once that bell rings and you get punched in the face then its showtime.

how many times have you seen a pro athlete lose a parent and the very next day or so he is out there competing even though he has that stress and mindset

i dont buy that margs wasnt himself, i hope floyd does though

          shane fought great that night

i scored it 7-5 for shane, winning.. watch the fight again it is on youtube, the first half you are seeing cotto winning with shane picking up the second half, but if u add up rounds, or as i did i had shane winning more rounds.
            Cotta was the "HOUSE FIGHTER",!!!

I have to totally disagree here.Moving away from marga's is a death sentence
if you ever watch him fight.Even Pwill who fought alot different at WW got hurt and wobble Moving away from Marga's Shane fought a great fight plan and that's what won him the fight.I too believe May would have won but I could see Marga's catching May because may fight in the Pocket and moves away from his opponent and marga's throws a volume of punches.Shane put a bad clinic on Marga's and beat the hell out of him like no other fighter.I don't think Berto would beat marga's right now and the fact that you would even say Berto would do anything to Shane I have to ask what fight's have you been watching with berto that make's you feel this way?

what is funny is that floyds attributes dont relate to bigger stronger faster.

he is a pure boxer of speed, skill, agility, defense and coordination.

so he could have competed in any era

we will see how styles make fights come may first when mosley takes that 0

Everyone seen a different fight in this one and rightfully so it was a close bout. But I want to point out a few things to you. They landed the same amount of punches with Cotto out landing him in power shots.they were in MGS were the crowd was pro Cotto and the crowd was chanting mosley's name.Cotto style was to come foward and break his opponent down his entire style change that night and has never been heard of again.I'm sorry dude but IMHO Cotto got a home cook meal plain and simple. But i respect you stand on it as we are all entitled to or own opinions..
