Agreed. Most of the posts on here make it sound like it was a 120-108 fight for Martinez...but he was very likely on his way to an "L" before he opened the cuts on the right eye. Those cuts (which, to his credit, Martinez made happen) turned the fight and opened the door for his victory. But that's no knock on him....he made those cuts happen, and he is the one who reversed the momentum...gotta' respect that.

He HAS to rematch Sergio or he is done on the top level of the sport. Finished. Had he not been so badly cut in this fight he would have had a chance. It isnt like the Hopkins fight where he lost every round. He won a few and had a knockdown until he was cut too badly.

He should try to get a fight in Germany against IBF MW titleholder Sebastian Sylvester

it certainly would have been more competative down the stretch. The cut seemed to take Pavlik out of the fight completely like he gave up rather than go for broke like some fighters do. Credit to Martinez though for that nice puch that opened the cut.

Nope. Martinez was too fast for Pavlik and got dominated in the first four rounds. The fight would've been a lot closer, but Martinez would've still won. You could tell by his body language he was not going to let the judges robbed him of another win.
