Get real. Safety first is refusing to engage unless your opponent has opened up. Martinez often times engages FIRST. Which means he's coming out of HIS shell (safety) first. Safety first is not throwing until your opponent misses, or you've got the right angle, pivot, etc, anything that can be considered a counter.

Baldimor Pressured Floyd, did floyd sit there and fight? So the logic to why Sergio fought with Williams is skewed.
baldomir tried, and i repeat, tried to pressure floyd. i think u guys have sum silly justifications. martinez spent most of the first 5 rnds on the outside, coming in n jumping out. he was not trying to trade with pavlik. sure he initiated the contact, but to act like he didnt move around a whole lot is ******.

It's because he gets hit more often and can get more aggressive.

Floyd barely gets hit clean and is not as active, but far more accurate. They really don't fight too similarly.

3 things that Mayweather totally lacked in his recent fight.
Whenever mayweather has had to throw combinations he has. Martinez needed to stand and throw to win and didn't stand and throw until then. Great fight by martinez he knew what he had to do and he did it.

People say Mayweather is safety first, a runner etc, but most boxers would give anything to be able to do what Mayweather can. You might not like his style but you've got to respect it.

You and anybody else that says Martinez didn't use movement as his primary style in this fight is just being blind and ignorant. And this is not to hate because I like Martinez and picked him to win fighting the way he fought. It was effective and he looked good doing it. But coming in here making claims that his style is somehow more "brave" than Mayweather is beyond ******. They both have their own style that works for BOTH of them.

No, movement IS his primary style. it sets everything up for him. He's nothing without it. But it's not "running", he's tricky. He'll step to the right and bring a left hand over with him.

Most fighters step to the right, and bring the right hand back with them (bhop).

he he'll step to the left while bringing his left hand over to the right. It's a lot of trickery going on. He'll pivot around you.. or take a double step to the right and pump his left hand 2 or 3 times.

It's got nothing to do with a "bike", it's just that his movement creates openings.. it's his style. Very unorthodox. But he takes many risks in the process.

You can shut your illiterate racist ass up. You have no boxing knowledge but what's worse is you type it like a 7 year old. I'm not talking to you anyway. Go run and hide behind your pinoy lounge buddies like you always do.
