Ummmh no. Pavlik said it himself martinez started doubling up his punches. That's what made the biggest difference. Instead of throwing the 1-2 he would throw 1-2-3-4 and turned him instead of jumping out. That's what Hopkins did to pavlik combination than turned him. Pavliks goal was to counter Martinez on his way out and catch him off balance Martinez started throwing enough and standing his ground enough to take that away from pavlik. BTW the cuts were caused by punches. Like I said before Martinez>Williams>Pavlik as I said before. BTW Pavlik looses to everyone currently in the super six and Lucian Bute( except for maybe Allen Green So I don't know of moving up will do him any good.

Fair enough but you kind of went overboard on that guy just because he chose the fighter that the majority of people/the media/the bookies chose aswell.

Jack needs to do the admirable thing and resign himself from Pavlik rematch. Pavlik made adjustments in the middle rounds and improved. Martinez missed a lot of shots in the middle rounds as a result and Pavlik never made him pay- not once. Speed was a factor, but poor "3-2" cornering was too.

I guess that's better than saying nothing like BHop fight. Many lost opportunities in those middle rounds. The blueprint for Pavlik was made by Bernard, solidified by Martinez. Pavlik has become a pretty easy target from here out. A different trainer is the only OPTION at this point, so Pavlik can discover if he can learn another dimension of himself. prolly not. Go back to school and learn something new, or go to the bar and discuss glory days. Beer masks pain so drink up Kel, or learn to counter those with faster hands to create opportunities.

no i didn't. this is a sport that i love and i box as well. for sometime now their some people that just started watching boxing, and fell like they know it all. and i have to let them know hey take a step back and analyze the fighters first before you start picking who's going to win. but these new fans start talking ****, and picking fighters to when because of the color of their skin and dumb **** like that. i can act how i want to act.

Martinez is a problem for anyone, he is highly skilled coupled with a lot of heart. I think a rematch would produce the same result.

I am very happy for Martinez bcuz the fight with PW could have 115-114 either way depending if you scoring the guy forward and throwing many punches or the guy throwing clean effective punches. I dont know why Pavlik's people ever took this fight, Pavlik just isnt skilled enough to face slick boxers, he is a straight line fighter

                      Great performance from Sergio.

I gotta admit I thought Pavlik's power would be too much for him but Martinez showed his heart and came through, I'm happy he got this win.
