Let me see: He skipped training, didn't eat correctly, didn't work hard enough in the gym according to his uncle, he didn't have the hunger for it after he took the belts from Hopkins and gave some very poor performances afterwards.

He's also a victim of The Executioner. Even though Hopkins lost both fights, I still think he left an imprint in Taylor's head.

physically he had all the talent in the world. His issue was he couldn't adapt once it didn't go his way. Hopkins/Pavlik both ruined him I think. He always had a lazy or predictable right hand and jab. It left him open for counters.

WTF? Not even close. JT was beating him before the KO, and the KO was a result of him being shot. No stamina, couldn't defend himself and didn't know what to do in a bad situation after Pavlik KO'ed him.

Pavlik ruined Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda. Neither was the same afterwards.

He lost to Winky imo and fought some boring fights.

You got to say it all went south when Pavlik got up survived and KTFO Taylor 5 rounds laters
                Disagree.

Taylor was not pushed too fast IMO. He beat Hopkins twice. After you do that, you should consider yourself in your prime.

Taylor's problems I think have to do with difficulty making weight and not having the best endurance. Also, it's very apparent to me that Taylor simply declined in his athletic ability and maybe even technical ability. He threw a lot of looping punches early in his career and got better, but still threw them. Once his youth started wearing off and the tax of being in fights built up, he just simply declined and he wasn't able to get away with the same mistakes.

Also, once Pavlik cracked his chin, it was easier to see how Taylor was to be beaten. Sort of like Cotto now. Cotto just seems much more beatable now, because there's a blueprint.

Every fighter has their peak. For Taylor it was early.

Nailed it. Taylor's reputation was also severely hurt for being in a lot of close fights that people felt he lost.
