It seems obvious the reason my Team Williams is cheering for Martinez. They have milked the idea that Pavlik cancelled his fights with PWill becuase he was "scared". A lot of people on this forum has drank that koolaid.

If Pavlik disposes of Martinez in a clear and unquestionable fashion ( a guy that PWill struggled and barely beat ) then they lose their only negotiating tactic. That plus the fact that Pavlik will become an immediate favorite.

Given the Matchmaking approach of all promoters that dominates boxing (promoters look for the safest fights) that's the best think that could happen to PWill if he want to fight Pavlik. I bet you that if Pavlik badly beats Martinez (no easy task) Arum will be calling Gossen tomorrow to schedule the fight!

Does Williams still call him out if Pavlik knocks Martinez cold?

A fight he'll win easily and won't get any credit for.

I mean, Cintron is a good win in my book for Williams because
he did hold titles at 147 and has a controversial draw against
Martinez, so if Paul could beat Cintron in a dominate fashion
and Martinez beats Pavlik, then it could turn out to be a really
big fight and should get credit for the win. My only thing is,
that he is kind of overlooking Cintron by challenging another
fighter when Paul himself has another fight before he would
get in the ring with either Pavlik or Martinez. Not a smart
move to overlook an opponent like that. At no point did
Paul peoples mention getting passed Cintron first and that's
why I had to ask if he still was schedule to fight Cintron.

I hope Paul was so focused on Pavlik that he wasn't properly prepared for Martinez cause Paul can't get hit that much against Pavlik. I think Paul can win but he can't go in there trading with Pavlik like that. I like Paul's willingness to fight anybody though. I'm sure it will eventually lead to him wanting the big bucks if he keeps winning. Either Pavlik or a Martinez rematch has to be next for Paul.

Kermit clearly loss to Martinez. Aint no way he's beating Paul unless he get's a good one in. Paul makes fights harder than they should be. Sometimes he's scary to watch.

I noticed that in the Martinez fight. It was insane it didnt matter how hard Sergio hit him he didnt give a damn he was winning that fight.

The reason I'm rooting for Martinez is because Pavlik hasn't done jack **** here lately and he's a whiner about everything. I think Martinez does have to KO Pavlik to win though.
