don't get me wrong. but I think martinez doesn't hit hard enogh to knock someone out. 44win and 24win via ko isn't bad though..

Possibly.. but probably not.. i think the main thing is that he needs to punch hard enough to discourage Pavlik from rushing him down. Pavlik certainly doesn't have a granite chin though seen him hurt a few times. Martinez probably has underated power seeing as he hurt Williams alot and knocked down Cry Baby Cintron, in his last 2 fights.

i think if it happens it will be an accumulation, not a "one punch" kind of KO

No way Martinez has as good one punch power as Pavlik does, but I do think he is slick enough to make Pavlik miss all night and box his ears off, Im picking Martinez by late round TKO.

            This should answer your question.

Saw Mirianda land lots of hard shots on Pavlik that was an action fight. And Zertuche and Pierre were as tough as the Miranda fight. Pavik can take hard shots can't say the same for Martinez.

I just watched B-Hops/Pavlik again. B-Hop's destroyed him with handspeed. Handspeed?...that man was 43-years-old. I can see Pavlik getting completely lit up for the first six rounds and it is down to whether his physical strength and stamina can get him through that onslaught. I don't think B-Hops was a million miles a way from a stoppage himself.

Pavlik talks about fighting speedy guys in the amateurs and negating them but with the odd angles and southpaw stance Pavlik won't be able to hit him the jab and consequently the right-hand probably won't follow. A hooking Pavlik isn't so dangerous as a Pavlik who can find an opponent with the jab and right hand.

Style-wise this match seems to be suicidal. Pavlik is going to take a beating whether he wins or not.

hop had solid hand speed for a 43 y/o man.
but what made his punches faster was his technique and the element of surprise.

hop's right hand is textbook. he fires it straight from his chin with little wasted motion. he could also shoot it without notice when kelly didnt expect it.
impeccable timing is just as good as excellent hand speed.

martinez presents similar stylistic problems, but he also showed in the williams fight that he will eventually slow down after rounds of intense pressure.
