A second safety weigh-in was held on Saturday morning for the IBF super middleweight clash between champion Lucian Bute and challenger Edison Miranda, taking place on Saturday night at the Bell Center in Montreal QC, Canada. On Friday, Bute (25-0, 20KOs) hit the official scale at 167.2-pounds. Miranda (33-4, 29KOs), now trained by Joe Goossen, was a pound under the super middleweight limit at 167-pounds. thats a waste of time! all they did was gain a little by not gorging themselves. After the weigh in, they can do what they want. The 2nd weigh in wouldnt matter!

Not a bad rule actually, in my opinion. It'd stop all the complaints about welterweights being light heavyweights during fight night etc.

the 2nd weigh in is the morning of the fight! They can still weigh more than that come fight night.
