    Hagler-Hearns overrated

    Yes, I just said it.
Sure, the first round was a crazy, sloppy, slugfest. The second was a cool down round. The third round wasn't amazing and finished with Hearns rubber legs giving out. Gatti-Ward II and III are also overrated.

I agree about Morales-Barrera I, not Froch-Pascal though. The thing that made Hagler vs Hearns great is that the two promised a war and delivered. Of course it was also two all-time greats in their prime facing each other, a rare occasion in boxing.

You weren't there at the time though.

You have to factor in the HYPE for the fight, the non-stop talk about hagler-hearns, the **** talking, the celebrities, people picking sides, everyone and their mama talking about this fight. And for the fight to actually happen and go down the way it did is part of the reason why it's considered one of the greatest fights of all time.

If you watch it now and don't know much of the history and what was going on in the times, yeah sure it's just another slug fest.

Great point, I was going to mention this in my original post but forgot to. Not knowing the result is also important in getting into a fight.

for the record I have witnessed some absolutely amazing fights, pure nonstop action, absolute wars. Between no namers. No one talks about those wars because no one cared who they are, kinda like Froch-Pascal lol.

I really like Froch-Pascal because of the clean and hard blows landed

              it was a dope fight.

For me, I wasn't THAT excited because at the time I didn't really care too much about either guy and tbh I didn't think either guy would be to successful.

See if they were both bonafide mega stars, people would still be talking about that fight and they probably would have had two more rematches.

Also, imagine if Oscar vs Floyd turned out to be a non-stop action war ending in a KO. The world would be a different place.
