The burden of proof lies on the party making the claim, this thread was created with the intention of legitimizing astrology, so now I ask you a supporter of this belief to explain how it works. Explain how the alignments of the planets has an effect on the personality of human beings.Comment

wrong this thread wasn't made with your stated intention so you're lying again. The burden of proof lies on the party making the claim, this thread was created with the intention of legitimizing astrology, so now I ask you a supporter of this belief to explain how it works. Rule #5: When someone uses deliberate lies and straw men arguments to disprove a claim then he obviously has an agenda.
The burden of proof thus lies on YOU to dispute it, and you are attempting to do so only with deceit and lies so it isn't looking very good for you thus far.Comment

Yes this thread was trying to make a connection as to how a person's horoscope corresponds to their personality, which in turn has a correlation on how they box. Either way, the burden of proof always weighs heavily on those who are trying to positively assert a claim, and I believe you are trying to claim that astrology is legit.wrong this thread wasn't made with your stated intention so you're lying again.

Again I say to you, explain how the allignments of the planet correspond to an individual's personality, more than any other external inanimate object.Comment

Wait a second, if you're following due process as it seems you are with your arousals of burden of proof, then shouldn't we be equally circumspect to first establishing all the proper bases and fundamentals? After all, how can we possibly establish a scientific principle if the values that we are using are not consistent?Yes this thread was trying to make a connection as to how a person's horoscope corresponds to their personality, which in turn has a correlation on how they box. So, if you are to assert the things you're spouting, you must first do so in clear congruence with fact. So first of all, before we are even able to get ahead of ourselves we must first discuss your own mis-steps. After all, you wouldn't start a scientific experiment when you know your instruments are mis-aligned and inaccurate would you?
So I say to you, the burden of proof first falls onto YOU to explain why it is you lied and what you meant by stating that this thread was started on the exact premise of proving astrology. I assert that that was not the initial premise for this thread. So since you are trying to disprove it, the burden of proof falls upon you to set this straight and prove to me how this thread was started on that assertion?
K I'm waiting. When you prove that, then we'll be able to get a better handle on the foundations of our terminologies and practices and then we can make headway towards legitimizing your challenge.Comment

We don't have equal levels of burden of proof, you have the heaviest weight because you are trying to make a definite positive assertion that astrology is true. So like I said before, the burden of proof is on you my friend. Please tell me how inanimate objects affect the personality of a human being.Wait a second, if you're following due process as it seems you are with your arousals of burden of proof, then shouldn't we be equally circumspect to first establishing all the proper bases and fundamentals? I agree, it was/is an interesting discussion. I don't think there is any need for personal attacks, clearly its just a couple of different points of view. I personally don't feel convinced that astrology plays any factor in a boxers career, but that doesn't mean we can't be civil about the debate.Comment

Quick correction cause it'll bug me if i don't point it out, the stars and planets are very animate objects.... however they still don't affect the personality of a human being. We don't have equal levels of burden of proof, you have the heaviest weight because you are trying to make a definite positive assertion that astrology is true. I agree with your statement, (after my correction) extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. That hasn't been delivered yet.Last edited by DIB42; 04-17-2010, 03:05 AM.Comment
