We just don't know yet if Steward has or can make a difference in Cotto.
There's really two possibilities with this:
1. Cotto has never had that "pro" trainer, like he has now. He's always been forced to run his own show. Steward will finally be the one to point out his flaws and work hard to strengthen Cotto in those areas. We see a much improved Cotto with a new found sense of his abilities.
2. It's too late for Cotto. Steward is not the trainer he once was, and it's too late for him to correct Cotto. Cotto doesn't improve, and even declines as he's only getting older and has taken beatings.
I'm hoping for #1. Either way I don't think a Pacquiao rematch is a good idea. I'd rather see him fight Mosley again.

See Patterson v. Johansson.
Brutally KO'd, came back and got his revenge.
Now I'm not saying Cotto is a Floyd Patterson, but any man on a mission can win on any given night.

Miguel needs to leave Pac alone... That dude whipped his ass all over the place so bad -- who would want to see rematch of the same thing? What he needs to do is rematch Margarito and avenge that loss Margarito gave him. That's the match that makes all the sense, the match that warrants a rematch.

I don't think a Pacquiao rematch should be on Cotto's
agenda but rather a Margarito rematch to show that
Margarito's win was perhaps a fluke. But then again,
maybe Manny win was a fluke because of the weight
with Cotto? Not really sure but I think he should get
Margarito back for possibly messing him up mentally
and physically if he indeed used whatever on him. I
just think a Margarito win for Cotto and or possible
a KO over him would be a lil more redemption for
Miguel. Everyone knows what Pac should and needs
to do.
