How good is Sergio? Not as good as Pavlik.

Could be I may have been seeing that fight the way I wanted to.

first time i watched it was with no commentary and i was with some mates and i actually thought it was a really close fight and was relieved when AA got the knockout but when i re-watched it i realized that taylor was done-he just doesnt have it mentally anymore

I thought the point deduction was bs on the low blow. And I thought Abraham gave up way to many rounds. I thought Taylor was winning. I was not listening to the biased commentators.

pavlik is just pure ****e. its got nothing to do with him fighting sergio. pavlik is a novice.

Pavlik was National welter weight champ as an amateur, Sergio had been boxing for three years at this point.

Pavlik is one dimentional. Sergio has far superior skills and will outbox Pavlik for 12 rounds. Pavlik isn't even good.

I think Sergio Martinez is a bit overated considering most people think he beats pavlik on nsb.

Looking at his last fight with Pwill Sergio did good and maybe did enough to get a draw or win. But Quintana gave Pwill more of a boxing lesson then Sergio. Maybe Sergio has a better chin but I would not say he has better out right boxing ablility then Quintana based on the Pwill fight.

The fight against Cintron was another good fight for Sergio. He did enough to win the fight But Cintron had his moments also and won some rounds. The Same Cintron that Margarito demolished twice. Same Margarito that demolished Sergio. And I have seen the fight, Sergio boxed in the same style.

I think Martinez is good but he has been outperformed by other boxer's against the same opponents.


Kelly Pavlik beat Taylor at middle weight, no one has done that. Taylor was winning against Froch and Abraham going in to the 12th round at super middle weight. Pavlik beat Miranda at middle weight no one has done that either. Kelly Pavlik has beaten Miranda and Taylor better then anyone.

Some people will say this does not amount to much because styles make fights. Some of these people are the same people that say Sergio can beat Pavlik because Hopkins a light heavy beat Pavlik. Sergio is not Hopkins lol. Hopkins is way more of a bad a**.

I'm looking forward to the fight I think Pavlik is going to win. I would like to hear some good reasons why Sergio can win this fight.

yes but AA did not knock out miranda in 4 rounds at middleweight he won a very tough fight and got the U.D

i agree that martinez is the better boxer but pavlik is a big MW martinez will be a small MW and its not like martinez has a water tight defence pavlik will land punches on this guy

i see martinez winning the early rounds and giving pavlik trouble with his speed and movement but the longer the fight goes on I see pavlik landing more and more eventually stopping him. Pavlik k.o round 8

That fight was one of the worst non stoppages I have ever seen. I thought Abraham was about to get his entire jaw ripped clean off. Abraham was lucky to get out of the fight with his entire face. I gave Martinez the benefit of the doubt in the Cintron and Pwill fights in my post. I think Miranda deserves it in that fight. Pavlik in my mind has out performed Abraham in the Miranda fights.
