He beat what many people call "the most feared fighter on the planet"

Shane openly said he didnt wanna fight Paul because he was too dangerous ...

      Did Floyd fight him?
      Did Miguel Cotto fight him?

      Nobody at WW fought him

ok, how about this. the one fight we can say martinez decisively lost in is the margs fight right??? ok margs is not better than, lets say, dlh. if u think he is, i dunno wat to say to u. so what the hell would make u think martinez could possibly beat a prime de la hoya???

now u might say he's gotten better, n that may be so but as of right now, martinez is not a p4p fighter and he hasnt beaten anyone really good decisively. therefore all u guys are doing is rating him on talent, somethin i cant agree wit. i like him, but lets wait til he does more.

Me I thought the fight should have been an outright Draw. Martinez scored the better knock down but overall the fight was even as hell

answer this: who does martinez have a win over that you consider a top 5 opponent?

If sergio martinez is overrated then paul williams must be super-over rated. Williams was supposed to be the next big thing in boxing and his promoters make out as if he is some kind of different species and that he cant land a fight, yet the much less known martinez gave him his toughest fight other than his loss to quintana and arguably even beat williams. It was the only fight i have ever seen of martinez, but it was good enough for me to want to see his next performance, against kelly pavlik no less.

You really have to watch all those fights. You sound like you going by of what you heard and read. Martinez has enough skills to give anybody around his weight class problems. He fought PW at MW not even his weight and that fight could easily been a draw.

Cintron fight was an all out robbery, Margo fight this guy was very young and raw. Cause you lose a fight doesn't make you a scrub

are u really a tool? compared to mega ppv stars like pacman, floyd jr, cotto, he really is a nobody, when was his last ppv? ermmm yh thats what i thought einstein.

it makes no financial sense to fight williams he is a nobody to casual fans, he is known by only mostly hardcore boxing fans. he isnt a ppv fighter period as he hasnt been in a ppv in his life..he aint a draw thats why i aint surprised that he aint getting the fights he wants.

man r u really that dumb? im talkin about the financial point of view in terms of why mega stars wont fight fighters like williams..i dont give a *** how much money they make or how many ppvs they do but its a fact fighters who are top draws wont fight fighters who are a nobody in terms of drawing power and take a risk against that. they might take a risk against another fighter that is a draw...
