u guys are overrating him a good deal on here tho. but i like his skillset. i just dont think u need to make threads and say that he can beat a prime de la hoya when he's done nothing to prove tht.

Not exclusively mate. Many fighters display their skills in fights against nondescript competition before they get a chance to shine against the elite. Martinez is one of those guys. He's good, but he's only just now getting into the spotlight. It's only normal after a great performance in an exciting fight that the bandwagoners will appear. Doesn't mean Martinez can't fight.

The citron draw isn't fair. And The Williams fight was extremely close.

who has the guy beat? some of you are really overrating him. let him beat someone in the top 10 then we can talk about it..

he will get ko'd by kelly pavlik if not get up in a 12 round decision

the guy is simply not as good as hes made out to be..the funny thing is i dont consider williams, margarito or cintron "elite level skilled" fighters...nor pavlik.

cintron, pavlik and margarito arent that skilled period

williams just throws 1000s of punches using his height and reach while getting countered to death everytime, quintana already countered him before martinez.
Quintana also got dropped by Williams in rd 1 in the rematch too.

Martinez was robbed against Cintron and could have easily drawn or won by a rd or so (I personally think he won by 1 rd) with Williams. He doesn't back down from challenges and provides action in his fights.

                Martinez will tax that ass!!

what made me create this thread is people pickking him over pacquiao, oscar, mayweather jr. i mean wtf has done dude for it to be a foregone conclusion he beats any of these 3? let him beat someone then y'all can overrate him..
