Guys, it is no secret that Mike Tyson, who once was the most feared boxer on the planet, is now a shadow of his former self. He still packs the deadly punch that characterized his reigns in the 80's and 90's, but the stamina and reflexes are clearly not the same. Saturday night could turn out to be an interesting night for Tyson and general boxing fans. This could be Tyson's last matchup if McBride exposes him as an even more washed up fighter than most of us think. Regardless of the fight's outcome, do you think he should retire after Saturday? In my opinion, he should retire. Win, loss, or draw, Tyson should recognize that his prolonged stay could result in more dissappointments, a tarnished legacy, and even physical damages. I expect a quick Ko from Tyson reminiscent of those devastating performances, which were the usual when Iron Mike stepped into a ring during his prime.
Win or Lose: Should Tyson retire after Saturday?

his legacy is allready tarnished in most peoples eyes, he lost to Lewsi and Holyfield the best to fighters of his era, so IMO he should Try to regain Glory and make that tarnished legacy a legacy to remember, either way Tyson will always be remember as a great in his prime. But the only way he should retire on saturday is whith a loss. Next time he looses he needs to retire.Comment

I think that Tyson will really look like a joke if he loses to other journeymen. He should quit after Saturday.Comment

You guys seem to forget that Tyson isn't fighting for legacy, he's fighting for $$$...as in he doesn't have any at the moment.
So win or lose we will keep going.Comment

Well just for the record, Tyson still lives in a 3 million dollar home despite having filed bankruptcy. It's ****ing criminal the way these multimillioaires can file bankruptcy and defraud creditors of millions of dollars of debts, yet be allowed to keep million dollar homes, and millions of dollars of possessions.Originally posted by BombardierYou guys seem to forget that Tyson isn't fighting for legacy, he's fighting for $$$...as in he doesn't have any at the moment.

Tyson was a force of nature for his brief prime but when 99% of people remember Tyson they will remember the psychotic, women raping, ear biting, vehicular passenger beating freak he has become. I hope he loses again, gets knocked out of the ring and suffers permanent brain damage.Comment

Well think about it though...I'm sure the guy had two or three multi-million dollar homes a while ago. As for the permanent brain damage thing, that ship has already sailed, I believe.Comment

Tyson is in a lose-lose situation. If he wins a few fights against some bums and retires, people will say he fought just for the money and will be ridiculed.
If he wins one of the belts and then doesn't attempt to unify before retiring, people will say he didn't want the biggest challenges.
If he loses when/if he challenges for one of the belts, people will say he lost AGAIN in the BIG fight.
The only way he could possibly silence the critics is if he somehow unified all the belts, which is just impossible, I think, for almost ANYONE to do these days with all the politics involved...
I personally am rooting for him to get at least one belt, try for another, then win or lose call it a career.Comment
