    Hayemaker Haye.......SMART?

when he first set up negotiations with the klitschko brothers he was offered a lousy contract, and now that he is carrying a world heavyweight title belt, he has gathered huge support in the u.k but he is also getting some exposure on the world boxing scene. thus giving him a better chance at achieving a better contract with the Klitschko brothers. when the first negotiations started Haye was the enforcer but now the Klitschko brothers whant the fight more than ever.

Very smart imo. Why rush to sign a lousy deal with the Klit's when you are really the only threat to them anyway. It was clever what he did, now that he has a belt that the Klit's desire he can go into the fight on equal footing.
Imo the longer he makes them wait, the better, especially with the heavyweight division being what it is now.

in the past year he has gone from a contender to a very well known heavyweight champ that can pull big PPV buys and big gate sales. he has probably tripled his earnings in the last year alone, and with the klitschko fight coming up soon hopefully. he has been very smart and played his cards right.

I've been one of the Haye critics but I will admit that he DID maneuver himself in a better position as far as the negotiation table goes ....a real slick dude and I mean that as a complement

yes he is a smart business wise guy since the negotiations with the klitschkos broke down for whatever reason haye has:

Won a world title belt witch greatly raised his profile
Been on numerous television shows in the U.K also raising his profile
Won an exciting fight by K.O defending his title against mandatory Ruiz
While doing all this he has repeatedly got under the klitschkos skin making sure either one really want this fight

All this has now given haye good solid ground to negotiate a much better deal and it has almost put him in a position to call the shots although I don’t think he desirves more than a 40/60 split in either klitschkos favour
