i was one round out with my prediction just for the record.

I predicted Hatton would win it by UD... I didn't think he'd ACTUALLY STOP Kostya Tszyu!

Ricky did us all proud on Saturday night... ... And both fighters were a class act both in and out of the ring.

I remember Kostya saying after the fight, "I'm a proud man, I've been doing boxing for 27yrs and it pains me to say this... Ricky Hatton was better than me tonight in everyway".

And Ricky said on the mic, "I think you'll all agree that if I can become half the champion that Kostya Tszyu's been over the years then I'll have more than made it!"

All the Aussie's that I've spoken too since have said, "Fair play to your boy Ricky, he had the right game plan and he stuck to it. It was an excellent win for him".

So why are all these Yanks on here "disgusted" with the way the fight went? - Coz' the fighters, and the fans of each fighter weren't? I really don't understand it... And I'm getting really tired of all this, "They referee was awfull" B0LL0X!

Ricky Hatton was not doing any illegal boxing moves... (besides they both threw a couple of low blows... but hey, it was a fast paced fight and the referee was particulary leaneant with both fighters).

I Agree with you JPW, some of the posters on this thread have no class at all... They're just whinging and talking B0LL0X because they've learnt that they didn't know as much about boxing as they thought they did.

I don't see what the big deal is. Why is everyone giving him so much ****ing praise? I was completely unimpressed with him, and Tzyu looked like **** during that fight as well. In fact, that was the worst Tzsyu performance I have ever seen. Big Deal, Hatton beat Tzsyu on a bad night.. As soon as Hatton comes to the states its over...Than you ****heads will realize he's nothing special. Once he gets killed by Corralles that is.

Its ****ing boring now, just stop with the excuses and show a little respect.

Tszyu was is brilliant shape, he said himself he was in the best shape of his life and his mental game is always spot on, Hatton just made him look bad, He was the better man on the night.

I have to ask... When Tarver beat RJJ he became P4P No.2 on many people's lists, (Including G.Leon **********.net). When I said, "That's crazy!" I was told, "You have to beat the man to be the man".

So by that method... I'm expecting to see Ricky Hatton at P4P No.2 ... LOL!... But do I really think that will happen? ... LOL!...

Yeah....and I never had him on the P4P lists just for his victory over Jones. I like Ricky...he is a good fighter and tough kid. He needs more wins over quality opposition..thats all.

I dont buy into that "be the man, you beat the man" because I never considered Hassim Rahman the best heavyweight right after he knocked Lewis out.

I think that style of thinking is wrong in formulating a P4P list.

Totally agree with u. to the "fans" who are riding Hattons nuts, U cant say "oh Hatton beat Zoo so he can beat Corrales" what kinda of ****ed up logic is that. This is boxing, and that logic simply doesnt work in this sport.

yeah it is. And if Ricky wins a fight with Mayweather, Corrales, Castillo, Harris, or other....I would then put him in the top 10 P4P list. But as it stands...he is on his way. This whole "jumping the gun" is typical of posters on this forum. Its cool to be a fan of his....which I might be. Im glad he beat Tszyu. But In the "Hatton Pound for Pound" thread....some people had him ranked over:

Barrera
Morales
Corrales

and that is just going way too far. Those fighters have done so much more in their career's: but it shows you how high people were on Tszyu. I guess not anymore.

Its like the Morales/Pacquiao fight: People completely omitted Manny from the P4P lists, just because he lost by a narrow margin to one of the best fighters in the world. They keep forgetting: He knocked out the fighter who I think and still hold as one of the best, (top5) in Marco Antonio Barrera.

but to bemoan a fantastic victory when most didnt give him a chance does in fact show no class. (just read some of it mate not by you but come on, the low blow, kostya is old, he was dirty blah blah).

hatotn doesnt make P4P for this win in the same way talor wont if he beats BHOP.

you have to back it up with another top ranked victory at the very least to get in p4p imo.
