If Manny was considered a hero in the Philippines, his circle of friends would be considered villains: the Ampatuan family (hated his political rival so much he ordered his son to take him out and anybody "with him". That day 57, including 30 journalists were killed) or Chavit Singson, a political figure who found his mistress with a younger man and obliterated his penis with a hammer.
Does this guys character really surprise anyone? He's trying to become a politician, in a nation with some of the most corrupt politicians in the world. HELLO. Then you wonder why people question his morals and can't help but wonder if he is taking the easy route by using ped's.

Read this GQ profile on Manny, it's pretty interesting, pretty long (7 pages) but it's pretty addicting after the first page.
Some notes from the GQ profile:
- Article is written before the Clottey bout.
- When Ariza and Roach kept saying that Koncz "cuts Manny's meat" on 24/7, they weren't lying at all. Koncz actually cuts Manny's steak for him. He even tucks him into bed.
- Manny loves watching himself in between rounds at the MGM on the big screens so much that Roach has to slap him at times.
- Pacquiao's dad left when he was a baby. One day, when Manny was a boy, his dad came back for a few hours to eat his dog and left again.
- He left home when he was young because he knew his mom had too many mouths to feed.

When one of Manny's associates told him that they should just buy some Filipino take-out to lessen the financial load, Manny grew angry and told him in front of everybody, "Don't ever mess with another man's livelihood. Now let us enjoy their food."
- The people around Pacquiao are actually scared of him. They're afraid to tell him stuff they believe may agitate him. An example includes when Manny was supposed to throw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. All the details were ironed out. The problem was that Manny never came because no one ever told him.

great effin read, much props for sharing this bro, that being said, manny is a very strange person, the ppl surounding him will lead to his downfall. that slaughter stuff is brutal, sum scarface **** right there, so manny ppl kissin his a** when he wealthy, when they rob his last dime lets see how loyal they are, very similar stuff to Tyson' slate careerComment
