    rings magazine annual rankings 2007
    Floyd Mayweather Jr., Champion

Antonio Margarito --- this is the only person really worth fighting at the time
    Carlos Manuel Baldomir ---fought
Miguel Angel Cotto ----no name at the time
    Zab Judah --fought
    Luis Collazo --- no name
    Kermit Cintron --- no name
    Oktay Urkal ---no name
    Arturo Gatti ---fought
Paul Williams ---no name and too green
Joshua Clottey---no name and too green as well

    names not on list
    Berto-- greener than pwill
Mosley-- was fighting in a different division
    Packy-- diff division

Honestlly the only person he could of made killer money fighting was Margacheato. Why not retire and do some things that can connect you with the mainstream and build your brand (Mayweather) and let these other guys fight and build up their names/brands so when you come back the fights will be worth a **** ton more... Its all about the benjamins to Mayweather and him and his team make excellent business decisions and they handle his career amazingly...

Look at what happened...we have a bunch of stars now! Cotto, Mosley, Pacman, PWill, Sergio, Margacheato. etc.. Any of those guys creates a Mega fight with Mayweather now...

This just my opinion, take it how ever you like
He made millions with both Hatton and Oscar, how about serving the sport that made him rich and allowed him to go on and do dancing with the stars.

You really think Mayweather has mainstream appeal? I disagree, sure he did Dancing with the Stars and a few commercials beyond that he is more 50 cent than apple pie and to corporations that means revenue, you can't market that garbage to mainstream America, you could market it to the hood but that ain't saying much.

I could care less for the money argument, that's for rappers and wanna be fan boys to argue about. I care about substance, that isn't necessarily directed at you. FYI--his job is to "fight", not posture for posturing sake.

2007 Cotto did not have a name?Cotto just beat Mosley and had already beat Zab.Cotto was on his ass and was rank before Marga's at the time.May fought Hatton a month after Cotto beat Mosley which means they were on a path to fight each other bro.IMO the Wall's of real WW's were closing in and May got out while the getting was good I posted something about this in this same thread if you want to check it out.It was a response to my main man chiefy.

point taken, but everyone knows who Floyd Mayweather is now... Hell my 80 year old grandmother always ask me "Is that charming lad, Floyd still unbeaten"... I agree that you cant market him with his villain appeal, but you cant disagree that everyone and their brother knows who he is... he sold 1 million in ppvs in his comeback fight against JMM... says a lot my friend

I think even Floyd's MOST loyal fans must see that he's a VERY insecure dude......I think the ones who can see this have what I call "Adult Vision" and the ones who can't see this.....well lets just say they might need "Adult Supervision"

he definitely is an insecure dude on certain issues, I'll admit that I think that as well. But hell who the hell isnt?? Does that make us weak or no heart... i'm not buying that a man who fights with a broken hand and continues to dominate his opposition...
