Martinez is a real man, and a real fighter. Not like that protected ***** Berto...

Here is the excerpt from his trainer:

Gabriel Sarmiento/trainer – “Camp has been wonderful, having fought Paul Williams just a few months ago really helped Sergio prepare for this fight against Pavlik and after the Williams fight we got right back into the gym as soon as we knew we were going to fight Kelly Pavlik. We’ve prepared to go the distance with Pavlik, but he’s not the same fighter he once was so we believe that Sergio’s speed will be the difference in this fight. This is Sergio’s most important fight of his career so far but its not the most difficult, I say this because Pavlik is the reigning champion at middleweight so a win over Pavlik will take Sergio to the next level. Should we get past Pavlik I’d like to see Sergio take on Antonio Margarito, possibly in the middle of the year and then Paul Williams at the end of the year.”

War Martinez! I'd love to see him rematch Margarito. MW is pushing it for Margarito, but he can go at 154. At this point, I think Martinez puts it on him. Glad he's still willing to take that fight if the chance comes, since you figure any other top guys wouldn't touch Margarito now. If Pac ends up facing the Shane-Floyd winner, then Margarito should be available. I ain't heard anything about Pavlik having a rematch clause, but Martinez could just go back to 154 for Williams and/or Margarito anyway.

I love both guys, and I just can't see any way Margarito can beat this version of Martinez.

Interesting. I never saw the first fight. I think Martinez wins a ud, possibly stopping marg late, depending on how much the mosley fight took out of him.
