for the most part he has avoided them. They didn't want any part of Joan Guzman and he directly called them out. They were the 2 top dogs in the division and Guzman wanted a fight to settle who was number 1....it didn't happen.

Also to alot of fans Pac has avoided Floyd Mayweather.

This is prob why alot of people think a slick counterpuncher will beat Pac.
After watching Funeka vs Guzman 1 do you honestly believe that guy stands a chance against Manny? I mean lets be serious for a minute

Not really. He was getting caught when he got complacent

Clottey missed several times in the begining with the Right. He started to land when Manny stopped doing something, which I won't reveal, but I know roach will correct.

Again....... I said I can see a counterpuncher, but why a slick fighter? **** doesn't make sense to me.

        1. I said I can see a counterpuncher. News flash....you can be a counterpuncher without being slick.

        2. What slick fighters with good feet have they avoided? just curious, becuase guys like Nate Campbell, Tim Bradley and others don't fit that bill.

I used to think these same things at the start of the Pacquiao hype, post-the-Delahoya-beatdown. I still believed this after he Ko'd Hatton.

The Cotto fight did a little to change that as that video in the other thread shows, landing solid lefts and moving to Cotto's side, out of danger. But then he goes in against Clottey and shows the complete opposite of what's he's done in the Delahoya, Hatton, Cotto fights, and that's the ability to stay busy non-stop if you give him a defensive target.

Simply put, Mayweather better be on his best, better not be relaxed like he was against JMM, styles make fights and JMM's counterpunching ways weren't the answer.

Because Pac will put the same type of pressure that Hatton put on Floyd, minus the vulnerabilty to get as easly countered as Hatton was, because unlike Hatton, who had great footspeed BUT terrible hand-coordination.....Pacquiao won't be LUNGING in like Hatton. But he sure will put a job on Floyd if Money relaxes up against the ropes too many times during the 3 minture span, and will steal many, many rounds.

The way Floyd handles Mosley will tell us a bit about he would do against Pac, because this is his first fast-handed fighter in a while. Judah was years ago, and Judah's stamina ****** down the stretch, something that MOsley & Pacquiao don't have a problem with.

                  1. Indeed, but they've avoided both styles, so my statement still applies.

                  2. Floyd Mayweather.

                    On the judges cards sure...

I had JMM winning the second fight. Actually alot of people did.

JMM traded too much and his knack for wanting to "fight" played into Pacs hands.

                    Floyd wont do that.

I agree but I am seperating the two because instead of saying slick fighters, people should really be saying counterpunchers. The slick aspect such as using lateral movement to turn opponent, moving around the ring, upperbody movement etc that goes on before a counterpunch...I just don't see that giving Pac any problems.
