Ali Funeka should have just came in overweight. Oh well he tried to get down too fast. Too bad since when he fought guzman in montreal he was at 135 a week before the fight so he would not have to run in the cold weather.

Guzmans draw with Funeka where he made weight should be made a No count so Guzman can have a perfect record.

So if Funeka would have won, he still wouldn't have gotten the title.

It is true that if you are using Hydrochlorothiazide every day for blood pressure (usually taken at lower mlg) you won't really lose much weight in a short period of time. But if you are using it as a diuretic (taken at higher mlg), using it only once every couple of weeks or less, you can see high weight lose over night. You can't really say, though, that he's been using it in the past to make weight because he would have been caught then too. It's one of the main things they look for in the tests. The ironocy of this issue is that where Funeka felt desperate enough to cheat to MAKE weight, Guzman came off as if making weight did not make a difference one way or another to him.

Besides that, Funeka is punished while Guzman is laughing his way to the bank.
