ray leonard was 24 when he fought duran.

pacquiao was 25 when he fought MAB the first time.

tyson was 20 when fought trevor berbick.

WTF you talking bout? You think he is still developing?
But not everyone develops as quickly as others. He's still showing that he has a lot to learn. Just look at Nate Campbell. He didn't become good until his 30s. Miguel Cotto also showed lots of flaws around Berto's age. Even Maligslappy stunned him a few times.

And the Pacquiao that fought MAB the first time couldn't hang with boxers, as JMM proved. He was nothing more than a good brawler who threw a lot of punches and outclassed guys who fought that same way, just with less skill. He didn't develop into a good boxer until his late 20s.

Leonard is just a beast, and same goes for Tyson. But again, some develop earlier than others.

that excuse cannot be used with berto. He's been fighting since he was 8 years old, he has amateur background, & an olympic background. It aint like he's nate campbell or antonio tarver who started late. That is a moot point with berto. Those 3 examples i used are the ones just off the top of my head. There are plenty more boxers who have fought elite competition before they were 25.

Again, berto is the wbc welterweight champion. wbc is the most prestigious out of all the belts (not including ring). If you have a major belt you are done fighting development fights & you should be fighting nothing but tough competition & big money fights.
