The heavyweights suck not because they are fat but because their trainers suck

I think most of us would agree that the heavyweight divsion outside of david haye and the klischkos is a very out of shape and unskilled divsion . The general conseus among boxing fans is that the heavyweights are poor because the fighters are out of shape and lack stamina to fight at a less cumbersome pace . While i agree that a fighters lack of training and work ethic is part of the reason for the poor quality heavyweights now. I think that is only part of the problem . I think the real problem with the heavyweight divsion is the lack of real quality trainers . Outside of emanuel stewart who is a very knowledgeable and experienced trainer who else is there . Nobody the other great trainers such as freddie roach and mayweather snr are training fighters in other divsions. Adam booth hayes trainer seems to be more of a manager than a trainer to haye . I mean where are the great old school trainers like cus damato, ray arcel, angelo dundee , eddie futch etc .Most of those trainers i mentioned were proteges of other great trainers or were fighters themselves and therefore really know the sweetscience . All the trainers in the heavyweight divsion with the exception of steward know as much about the sweet science as tysons clown trainers such as jay bright and araon snowell. I mean the best heavyweight in the divsion is able to dominate the rest of the divsion with one punch the jab and he only has 3 punches in his arsenal . I mean he has no lateral movement , cant parry or feint , cant throw an uppercut , cant fight inside , backs straight up when he is attacked and grabs his opponent like an octupus when ever his opponent gets inside . I mean if the likes of haye , povetkin , arreola , ibragimov were taught how to bob and weave properly they could easily knock this guy out but instead instead they choose to stay in front of the guy and get there head jabbed in . I dont believe people actually realise how limited wladimir actually is . I mean wlad is not even on the same stratosphere as larry holmes or muhammed ali when it comes to boxing skills.

True but I think it comes down to the heavyweights not being good enough to even warrant the attention of a top quality trainer.

        1. Your writing sucks, learn to use paragraphs.

        2. You make not a single valid point, your post is biased as hell. If Ibragimov knew how to bob and weave he would KO Wlad easily? Wlad is limited? Lol, your whole post reeks of bias.

        3. Idiots like you need to move on and stop living in the past, I know it's hard for you to accept that the division is dominated by eastern europeans, but it's going to be that way for a long time, so better get used to it.

Yeah but technique and skills are more important than talent . For example George Foreman and Rocky Marciano weren't very gifted fighters but they had good trainers who taught them good technique and how to make the best of their main assets which was strength and power.

I mean if that big fat slob Arreola lost weight and learned how to bob and weave he could beat the klitschkos . Klisckos jab isnt that good its not on the same stratosphere as Ali , Holmes or Listons jab its just that the guys he is fighting dont know how to slip and jab and counter . Watch the heavyweights in the eighties such as Witherspoon, Tubbs, Thomas , Tucker, Dokes etc those guys were so much more skilled than the likes of Povetkin, Arreola, Haye and the Klitschko's. Even Frank Bruno who was considered a very unskilled fighter in the 80's had far better skills than any of the heavyweights today .

I dont think people realise how far heavyweight boxing has regressed since the eighties and 90's and why were the heavyweight so much better at the sweet science. Those fighters had old school trainers such as Ray Arcel, Emanuel Steward, Eddie Futch, Angelo Dundee even Kevin Rooney although he only knew the peek a boo style. There is ony Emanuel Steward and he is training the best heavyweight coincidentally. i don't often agree with Larry Holmes but he said that the reason the heavyweights are so poor today is not because of the lack of talent its because the heavyweights are not being taught how to box properly .

You can attack my spelling and grammar all you like . But I am afraid it can't be helped . You see we paddy's are a very inarticulate and linguistically deficient nation . A problem which has possibly emanated from years of vast consumption of fluoridated water which leads to a rapid depletion of a person's IQ . I bet you don't have fluoridated water on your country . Seriously though you attacked my grammar but never even tried to constructively refute my points . Please tell why my points are not valid.

You could've just put this in the opening post, so I wouldn't have to waste time plowing through this nonsense.

I think you are a legendary poster catskills and I do agree with the lack of training at the heavyweight level, but you are severely underplaying Wlad's abilities.

His jab is great, he beats guys to the punch all the time, his timing is outstanding, he's got a text book left hook and even doubles it up when he wants to, and he's got missile of a right hand that just crushes guys.

That's why he's wrecked like 12 guys in a row.

It's too bad we don't have any fighters like Bowe-Holyfield, Tua-Ibeabuchi, anymore, but Wlad doesn't have a dance partner for that.

Hopefully one will come. Preferably a fat one with skills that beats him up.
