Would've been nice to see him and Gamboa go at it.

Gold medal, voted best boxer in the last Olympics. Seriously, what the hell else does he need to prove?

A waste of one of the most talented boxers alive.

Seriously all I read here is nonsense. I agree he should have turned pro back in 2008. But now, it is definitely better for him to wait for the next Olympics next year. An additional gold medal has a lot more value than an "earlier year" of pro boxing. It's not even arguable IMO...the marketing of being a two-time Olympic champion vs an additional a year of pro fights, this is a no brainer...

you're wrong. winning a first gold, thousands have done it. winning two golds, try to find me more than 5 boxers who did so, without looking online? this will be his VIP pass for a fast ascension in the pro-game, medias will love his two golds. after all, nowadays it is a lot easier to win a world title than a gold medal

Germany right now seems to care about the bigger guys. After lomachenko
won the first gold every promoter was after him,I hope he dont turn
              into another matt korobov.

Rigondeaux, and once again, you're wrong. Those two medals are probably the only reason why he's signed today. Top Rank won't sign a 30 years old boxer who has never had a pro fight. They did because of his credentials, his two medals. As a matter of fact, it's always the first thing they mention when they introduce him. Lomachenko will have two medals and be relatively young still, sky will be the limit for him. It would be ****** for him to go pro now when the Olympics are just a year away. As I said, his best choice would have been to go pro right after the 2008 Olympics, not now.

1988 he's 23. 24 is plenty young and leaves lots of time for a pro career. People need to calm down.
