Hopkins has never gotten seriously hurt. He should continue but the problem is he doesn't want to fight any top LHW, Haye already turned him down, so who is he going to fight? more Middleweights at 175? The Super 6 contestants are all busy as well. Jermain Taylor-Bernard Hopkins III could have been a last resort fight but Taylor is currently not in the mood to fight. Hopkins has nobody left unless he does what he does best and fights a Middleweight.

He didn't decline Adamek, Adamek outpriced himself asking for more money unstead of saying, "**** it, he is a top P4P fighter, i will beat him and then make more money".

And Dawson, well that one he could've taken but he made a reasonable explanation why he didn't, saying that Dawson brings nothing to the table financially as a draw/ticket-seller, or legacy wise, so why try beating a guy who could be the future once the old-timers are retired for good.

In conclusion, Hopkins at his age is entitled to cherry-pick, he beat a young guy in Pavlik and that's enough. Still doesn't mean he is gonna fight bums because as he put it, he needs something that motivates him to keep going so whoever it is, is who it is.

Answer: James Toney as his debut to the heavyweight division. The way Hopkins's minset works, this would make perfect sense fighting another estabslished guy with multi-division credentials like Roy Jones and Winky Wright were.

Hopkins & Adamek agreed to a 60/40 split. The adamek fight didn't happen due to HBO not releasing their 2010 budget and made both hopkins and adamek wait as HBO wouldn't confirm it. Adamek rather than wait around to a fight that may or may not happened fought Golota and made good money. So hopkins never declined Adamek for the record. He did decline dawson though.

I understand Mosley's case but come on Hopkins had offers that he did not bother with ..........

No one is willing to pay to watch him fight anymore.

Why can't this guy realize this...?

                      Horrendous post.
