Why would Valuev take this fight? I doubt this will materialize.

    * Why fight in an eliminator for a title fight that he already ran from previously?
    * Why fight an eliminator when he is lined up for a full title fight with Haye?

People here in the thread act as if Valuev is obligated to fight Solis just because the WBC council ordered it so. That is ludicrous.

Valuev can do whatver he wants and it appears clear that by declining $2.5m from Vitali and by everything Don King has said that Valuev wants to enforce his existing contract and rematch Haye. The fight will probably happen in October.

The WBC will likely have to find a new opponent for Solis' eliminator.

They will 100% surely be finding a replacement for Valuev.

As you stated Valuev already ran from a huge payday to fight for this title.

The WBC is just trying to make Valuev look bad for having the nerve to decline such a generous offer to fight for their oh so prestigious belt.

Nico has no power at all, he could not KO or even hurt some guys with glass jaws like *****ko, Yelistratov, Tasefa, Franko, Lyakhovich, Bergeron and few others. He has no skills either. Oh yeah, and he is one of the slowest and most boring fighters I've ever seen.
Some boxing fans think that Solis can't KO him, because Valuev has a great chin. I disagree: everybody, who saw his fight against feather-fisted Bergeron (yas, the same Bergeron who couldn't KO a shot Darrel Wilson, who was never known for a good punch resistance) knows that you don't have to be a good puncher to hurt Valuev. The single left hand in the 2nd round stunned Valuev pretty badly, but Bergeron failed to land another punch till the end of the round. Taras *****ko is another example of feather-fisted fighter, who rocked Valuev at the end of the 12th round in their fight.

Can't wait till somebody KO's this big punching bag. And I'm sure that either Solis or Haye (in rematch) will KO him in the early rounds.
I see some worse titleholder in HW history. Rahman and Liak for example.

While i dont think Valeuv will take this fight, there are couple of reasons why he might; to answer your questions - he can demand an automatic 40% of the purse as a mandatory (i think) and get more than the 2.5M that was offered, and the rematch with Haye could still happen after the Vitali fight. If he's still alive after Vitali is finished with him.

Looks like the next available contender for the eliminator would by Boytsov as Ray Austin was removed from the rankings.

Boytsov-Solis works for me too! This prospects should start facing each other to prove they deserve a shot at the title, like Chamber and Povetkin have done, instead of facing their bums of the month.

The winner of Solis - Boytsov (if the fight comes) would make a good contender for Vitali, since Haye will probably find an excuse not to step up to Vitali once again.

He said then that he turned it down because he thought he could get a better deal by becoming the mandatory.

At around 270 in his last 2 fights, I don't see that happening.
i dont see it either but if hes motivated enough he can do it...hes been fighting guys where it didnt matter what weight he was at since he was so much better...valuev is **** and will be dominated regardless

Valuev is a better test than Austin for Solis and he has to be in good shape to beat him, in better shape than he was last times. A good test for Solis. Solis has to outbox Valuev should watch how Chagaev and Haye did it.
its true that ko'ing valuev would be hard..but he is 100984x more skilled than valuev and i see him just destroying valuev
