I had no idea the WBC even acknowledged Valuev's existence.

No way Valuev beats Solis, unless he gets a gift.

At around 270 in his last 2 fights, I don't see that happening.

Excellent news! This is a much more interesting fight than Solis-Austin, since Valuev is still ranked in the top 10 by most sources. Also this should free Haye of the Valuev rematch.

Absolutely terrific news. Valuev doesn't deserve an immediate rematch and I really don't want to see Haye-Valuev II.

Bring on Haye-Klitschko and then Haye-Solis!

Good elimination fight, hopefully Solis emerges as a good contender.

if Solis slaughter Valuev, it wont look good if Valuev whines about a rematch with Haye

Just because the WBC ordered it, doesn't mean it will happen. The way Valuev has been carefully handled, I don't see him taking this fight. Not sure about the terms in the Haye contract, but it can't be a good thing if he loses against someone else.

How do you think Valuev was able to turn down a career high payday against Vitali? He has other options and Solis is probably not in the plans. Valuev will either continue to sit on his rematch or take a stay busy fight in the mean time.
