Comments Thread For: Quintana in Top Form, Ready For The Berto Upset

the problem with Berto is consistency. He has the weapons: speed, punching power, good movement. But he gets hit a lot, and I think he must have a confidence/identity problem with the way he fought Urango. Quintana is a rangy big southpaw and if he boxes and controls the distance I see him winning by UD.

I'm torn on Berto. On one hand he has great speed decent pop and fast hands and feet.On the other hand I see that he can lose focus.fights to squared up at times and easly lead into a brawl. One thing that favors Berto is that like Collazo Quintana does not have raw power.I think they have equal pop. This should be a good fight and should speak in volume about were Berto is in his career.F.Y.I.I felt Collazo won that fight so that fight already let me know a lil something about him.Good and bad.Good is that when he was push by Collazo he step up and fought like he refused to lose his belt.Bad is I did not like the way Berto look so tired against collazo which could mean all that partying is getting to him or he is not training as hard as he should.

Lets go Quintana!!! Hope Indio can bring home that strap. Berto is gonna try his best 2 keep his title, remember he's fighting 4 Haiti aswell as his championship. That will motivate him even more. It also can hurt him. He can't afford 2 get 2 over hyped & make careless mistakes against Indio.

Berto has good hand speed but his foot speed is not that good and he has the tendency of getting into brawls. These two things make him very hittable. Quintana might not be the fastest but he has good movement and decent offensive abilities. I also think Berto's power is overrated. I think this is Berto's biggest challenge as of yet and if Quintana wins by no means should it be called an upset. We are after all talking about the guy that outboxed PWill and outboxed Julio when he was the big thing coming up.
What I worry about in Quintana is his corner, Bonilla is not what he needs in my opinion.

Fighters depend on being active to keep their timing, basically his in-activity might hurt him. We will find out at fight night

This fight is a toss up in all actuality. Berto does seem to gas at certain points in his recent matches, but he does dig deep and finishes strong. Quintana has faced the better opposition with Cotto, and P.Will, but he was also stopped by both(Alot of people give him a little bit too much credit for the 1st. P.Will fight, he boxed beautifully; but I think it had more to do with Paul more so than Carlos). This scrap will be very intresting to say the least and I will be tuned in fa sho. But I honestly think that Berto is gonna make a statement in this fight, as alot of us fans are still on the fence about the validity of Andre Berto's skills.
