I'd really like to see Pacquiao fight Mayweather before making up my mind based on who was greater. Duran and Whitaker did it, they contested against the best contemporary fighter at the time, Leonard for Duran and Chavez for Whitaker. Pacquiao has yet to do it which is why I don't yet have him above those two despite his otherwise outstanding record. If Pacquiao eventually comes up big against Mayweather and wins, sure, I don't see why not to rate him up there with anybody.

Fantasy fights seem to often come down to whose career you've followed the most. No offense but hearing things like, "Ramirez beat a prime Whitaker, "Laing beat a prime Duran, "De La Hoya beat a prime Whitaker", I must question the overall knowledge of my fellow posters on these two all-time great fighters.

Honestly as talented as Pac is, I could defiantly see him beating whitaker and duran. I could also see both beating Pac because all three are not only talented but beatable.

If Jose Luis Ramirez (who Pac is way more talented than) can beat a prime Whitaker, why can't Pacquiao. Same with Duran. I feel Manny is more talented that Kirklang Lang and Lang beat a prime Duran.

The thing is this....In boxing no one is unbeatable esp. Duran and Whitaker. People try to carry a mistique about these past fighters but Its possible that a Mosley, Mayweather or Pac at 135 could end up beating either if they were matched up. Is also possible those 3 could get blew out the water by Duran and Whitaker.

People are forgetting Roach has been VERY selective of Pac's opposition as he has gone up. Great wins, he is truly gifted, but it should be seen for what it is.

This isn't Duran getting in the ring with Hagler.
