    Yes probably, but I meant more "Prime" as in recognition, he was recognized as the Top guy P4P. And for years at that point. And that video is a classic example of a long time P4P King defending himself against a similar interviewer in Brian Kenny (although Kellerman did more talking). It's just a video for the youngsters showing them the old days in comparison to today.

    If we're talking prime athletically then for Roy is the days of 168 Vs Floyd's 130/135 days but neither was a P4P King at that point.

    Hell even the whole Mayweather vs Pacquiao thing is looking like a Hopkins vs Jones situation, where they will cash in on that fight when it's past it's prime and neither is on top as they are now.

      I love Roy but how is this any different than Floyd fighting guys like Baldy who was the champ when people wanted him to fight someone else. Dont be hypocritical now. The basis of what Roy was saying was off of what everyone else at the time was saying, that Roy was fighting inferior guys like Woods, Kelly, Gonzales, and so on just because they were the #1 contenders. #1 contender dont mean **** unless they are good and thats why Floyd says that the belts dont mean **** after you get to a certain point. RJ was much bigger than the belt at that point and some think he was hiding behind the belt and facing weak #1 contenders

        You are trying to pick a confrontation that isn't there.

        I like both guys, I just loved Roy's interview vs Brian Kenny more than I did any of Floyd's. That's it.

          He tested positive 4 roidz after the Hall fight. I used 2 love watching Roy back in the day but when the roid issue came up it put a question mark over his whole career for me; remember the drug testing wasnt as advanced back then; and when the Balco scandal broke out, Roy suddenly went downhill; it might be just a coincidence but u gotta question it.

            Roy's awesome and knows just how to handle the haters and critics.

            I miss prime Roy, as there is nobody like that in the sport right now. Floyd doesn't handle the criticism as well, he gets far too defensive. Roy stays calm, cool, states facts and sounds logical and everything he says makes perfect sense.

            You gotta love the Great Roy Jones Jr.

              [QUOTE=American Dream;8023083]I agree..classic Roy..
              had he fought Tarver at this point instead of moving up and back down again..I believe he wouldve beaten Tarver easily..

              Your so right here.He would have kicked his ass so bad maybe even have stopped him.

                Roy handled that **** way better than "Patty-Cake" Mayweather did.

                  I still like Floyd and most of what he says is logical and makes sense but it's the way he says it that makes people perceive him negatively.
